writing about love and sex not necessarily in that order

My NaNoWriMo project is unapologetic chicklit. It's girl once upon a time sort of had boy, lost boy, said: the hell with boys, and just like that, 25 years transpired.

The conceit of ALL OF MY CHILDREN ARE NOT HERE relies heavily on the premise that a normal, functional, heterosexual woman can be without a man for two-and-a-half decades. It's sort of a 40-yr-old virgin meets sex and the city, because now, at 45, my heroine is heading back out there on the front lines. The desire's the same, but the rules have changed. Or have they?
